Growing at Home

This is an excerpt from the weekly News-Loveletter. If you would like it sent to your inbox directly (with all the other juicy bits, including a mini joy practice), you can add yourself to my mailing list here.

Between summer adventures, I fall in love with my home and garden. It’s a place of relaxation, restoration, and at times hard work. I clean with deep appreciation. I make time to touch, look carefully at, and smell objects around me. (I’ve learned the hard way to keep my tongue in my mouth.) Most of all, I open my heart to enjoy it all.

Periodically, I invite friends to tea, to lunch, or for an evening drink on the deck so I can share this oasis and appreciate anew the space from their eyes. How do you court your home in the summer, coaxing it into a mindful giving and receiving?
