Birthday Dinner for One

This is an excerpt from the weekly News-Loveletter. If you would like it sent to your inbox directly (with all the other juicy bits, including a mini joy practice), you can add yourself to my mailing list here.

Today is the day, my friends! I turned 51 at midnight. And I felt so giddy and excited about this that I laid in bed awake for a couple hours, breathing in the new year with my heart exploding with joy. This ecstatic response is, I suppose, a side effect of my practice. It doesn’t happen all that often, so I can’t complain. :)

I tend to celebrate all month, but in the week before the big day, I really do it up. That midday luncheon above showcased our autumn arugula and the last of the heirloom tomatoes as well as my new Love … Greek Gigante beans! All that and a strawberry lovage shrub pretty much sent me.

It’s been an amazing week, so full of plenty. Among the sweet surprises were the testimonial of my dear companion in joy, Sherri, who told our group Wednesday that having kicked her allergies, she has now decided to rewire her brain to use her eyes together better and also her left hand. She had perceived these as limited since having had 2 strokes many years ago. She told us she was done with all that. She said she is now the one who gets to decide what her body can and can’t do. And by golly, she’s doing it. Turns out she can catch a ball after all! I captured her story on video and have permission to share a link in the next newsletter. So inspiring!

On a different front, one of our dear readers decided to take me up on the free workshop this Saturday. Will you, too? It was perfectly delightful to hear that someone I’ve never met has been enjoying these newsletters as much as I have. I can’t wait to meet her. Positively made my day.

I also saw this morning that we got a new review! This past couple of months, 10 folks have left reviews on Google and several on Facebook, too. I am so grateful to all of you who have shared your experience with our classes. It’s such a joy and gift to see the value of this work coming to light more and more every day. If you haven’t yet seen these reviews, I invite you to take a look. (Google Collier Connections; I can’t seem to get you the link.) And if you have a review to share, I’ll be grateful all over again!

So yes — quite a day, a week, a month of receiving. And more! Because I am in the flow of giving and receiving with you all, and that is one of the greatest gifts I know.

How do you like to celebrate your birthday, and what sort of abundance most excites you on that day?
